What you get

Built for evidence, not vibes.

01

Crawler access by purpose

Search, training and user-triggered fetching are different permissions. The audit evaluates your robots.txt for 20 AI bots and shows each one's status separately, with the rule that matched.

02

Answer-readiness checks

Is the key claim in the raw HTML? Is there a clear heading structure, a canonical, valid structured data, a self-contained opening paragraph? Checked per page and rolled up into a site score.

03

Honest scores

A score of 78 means little if only part of the site was checked, so the number of pages checked sits next to it. When Citeroot can't determine a result, it says so instead of rounding it into a pass.

04

llms.txt and sitemap

The audit uses your sitemap (or homepage links) to choose pages, and notes whether you publish an llms.txt. That file is an optional convention, not something major engines require.

How it works

Three steps, no guesswork.

  1. Add and verify your domain

Single-page checks work straight away. For a multi-page audit, prove you own the site with a DNS TXT record, a file or a meta tag.

  2. Crawl

Citeroot fetches pages as raw HTML — what most retrieval crawlers read — up to your plan's page limit: 25 on Scout, 100 on Trail, 250 on Summit.

  3. Work the findings

Findings are grouped by cause, with the affected pages and the evidence for each.

FAQ

About Site Audit

Can I try the crawler checks without an account?

Yes. The free AI crawler checker and page-readiness tools run the same core checks on a single domain or URL, with no account.

Does the audit change anything on my site?

No. It only reads. Changes are always yours to make.

Does it run JavaScript?

No. Pages are fetched as raw HTML, as many retrieval crawlers do. Content that only appears after scripts run is reported as missing, which is often the finding you need.
